A Distress Phrase is a unique word or sentence visible only to your guardians and our ADT-backed professional responders. Once set, you can use your Distress Phrase while on the phone to discreetly signal you need immediate help.

Some examples include:

  • Did you lock the front door?

  • Did you feed the cat?

  • I'm feeling a little under the weather.

To set a Distress Phrase, simply:

  1. Tap the 'menu' button in the upper left corner of the screen

  2. Tap 'Distress Phrase'

  3. Enter your desired Distress Phrase, then tap 'Confirm'
